From the Principal!

Greetings!  My name is Wade E. Bell and I'm the new principal of David Skeet Elementary School in Vanderwagen, NM.  David Skeet is on the verge of some major changes.  It was chosen as one of six schools in Gallup-McKinley County Schools to be part of the University of Virginia-Darden Schools of Business' turnaround project.  To be chosen, the school had to show a severe need which was the "F" designation from the New Mexico Public Education Department (NM PED).  This "F" designation is not set in stone and can be improved.  The district, the state, and the University of Virginia will be pouring resources and training into David Skeet to help students succeed.  This turnaround process will be hard and require a lot of work on the part of the staff and students.  However, the reward will be students who are well educated and ready to take on life as well rounded learners.  For further information text me at wbell@gmcs.k12.nm.us.
